Brand art

Can you tell I used to be a fashion designer? I think luxury bags should be celebrated as canvases for creation not thrown away.

Original illustrations on GENUINE designer carrier bags - professionally mounted/framed to display bag front and handles.

These are not paper bags but paintings on canvas, inspired by the beautiful simplicity of the Prada carrier bag ..with a touch of surrealism.

Fashion Alphabet

Inspired by Sir. Peter Blake's alphabet series, I set about making my own fashion alphabet as a lockdown project.   It is a 'stealth' alphabet with no letters!! I am fascinated by branding and set myself the challenge to make a recognizable AZ of brands using the company logos.  Some brands are easy with just the colour of Hermes or Tiffany's being recognizable, others have an iconic logo such as the tick of Nike... I also tried to keep the materials and methods for each logo as appropriate as I could to the imagery..so for a street brand like Kappa I have used spray paint, and a rustic outdoor brand like FJallraven a wood cut.  Each 20cm square is a mini work of art in its own right.  Together the colours and the different materials such as real gold leaf, sandpaper, perforated leather, stitched fabric, gemstones and woven paper make the AZ a fascinating artwork.

Exclusive Limited edition print available through artrepublic, hand embellished and hand finished, mounted to fit 50 x50cm frame, SEE LINK BUTTON BELOW.

More photographs of each logo square are viewable on my instagram.
